Jayhawks Look Ahead To NJCAA Region 3 Swimming & Diving Championships

JAMESTOWN – Heading into postseason, the Jamestown Community College women's swimming & diving team will look to return to the top once again at the NJCAA Region 3 Swimming & Diving Championships.

 

The Jayhawks have posted a meet record of 7-2-1 on the season to go along with a second place finish at the Jamestown Community College Invitational.

 

Leading the way in her first season with the Jayhawks is Madison Kramer (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) who has been named NJCAA Region 3 Player of the Week three times this season along with setting a new school records in the 100 yard IM with a time of 1:06.20 and in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:16.30.

 

Joining Kramer is the veteran swimmers of Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Fourways School) and Kylee Hennessy (Warren, PA/Warren Area HS). Hennessy has mproved in her events throughout the course of her sophomore season, setting new personal bests in nine events. Fiebiger has also improved in the pool during her sophomore season, setting new personal bests in eight events.

 

Joining the group of sophomores are the freshman of Stacey Blackler (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Edenvale HS), Hannah Eckert (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS), and Lindsey Spitz (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS). Spitz has been a nice addition as the season went along, being named the Region 3 Player of the Week one time. Blackler and Eckert have also been key swimmers throughout the season.

 

Competition will begin on Friday, February 10th, at 6 p.m. and will continue throughout the weekend with the final events taking place on Sunday, February 12th.
