Jayhawks Earn Honorable Mention All-American In Four Events

Fort Pierce, Fla. - It was another strong day in the pool for the Jamestown Community College women's swimming & diving team, adding four more Honorable Mention All-Americans to their list of accomplishments this week with day two of the 2022 NJCAA Swimming & Diving National Championships in the books.

 

Tia Moppert (Gowanda, NY/Gowanda HS) placed 10th in the 400 yard IM, finishing with a time of 5:21.36. Moppert shaved 13 seconds off her previous best time. Shannen Stein (Olean, NY/Portville HS) also earned Honorable Mention All-American honors, placing 12th in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 32.18 which is a new personal best.

 

Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Fourways HS) posted a personal best in the 100 yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 1:09.50.

 

The team of Moppert, Stein, Fiebiger, and Kaylee Constantino (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) finished fifth in the 200 yard freestyle relay and 400 yard medley relay, earning Honorable Mention All-American status. The team finished with a time of 1:45.97 in the 200 yard freestyle relay and 4:28.62 in the 400 yard medley relay, both new school records.

 

As a team, the Jayhawks are in fifth place with 129 points, leading Region 3 foe Genesee Community College by 11 points.

 

JCC will be back in action tomorrow morning for day three starting at 9:30 a.m.
