Jayhawks host Jamestown Open; Keefe Takes Second at 184lbs

JAMESTOWN, NY - Jamestown Community College hosted its annual Jamestown Open on Sunday, with 20 collegiate teams coming in from across New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

The open saw 123 wrestlers invade the JCC PHED Complex to compete in ten different weight classes.

JCC had four wrestlers in the event, with Gavin Warner participating in 133lbs, Ryan Parton 141lbs, Nicholas Ewan 149lbs, and Kyle Keefe 184lbs.

Keefe was the lone Jayhawks to earn points during the meet.

The sophomore captured a pair of wins to earn a spot in the 184-pound championship before falling to Niagara County Community College's Peyton Craft.

The JCC wrestlers are right back on the mat this Sunday, February 4th, as they travel to Muskegon, Michigan, for the Henry Ford Invitational.
