Match One: No. 17 Niagara County Community College 28 - Jamestown Community College 19

The Thunderwolves jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead in the match before Joey Pillittieri (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) got the Jayhawks on the board with a 21-8 major decision victory over Zachary Ash. James Rankin (Cleveland, OH/Garfield Heights) gave JCC a 10-7 lead with a fall over Wesley Licht in 51 seconds in the 149 pound match.

The Thunderwolves would take the next two matches by forfeit and decision to go up 28-16.

The Jayhawks would close out the match as heavyweight Alex Christy (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia HS) picked up the 11-4 decision win over Ameer Ladd.

Match Two: Joliet Junior College 29 - Jamestown Community College 21

The Jayhawks fell in a 17-0 hole early, dropping the first three matches of the dual. Rankin got JCC on the board with a forfeit victory. The Wolves continued to build their lead over the next two bouts with a fall and forfeit win to go up 29-6.

After a double forfeit in the 174 pound class, Abram came away with a 12-8 win over Andrew Hasse. Brock Johnson (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) made it a 29-15 dual with a forfeit win in the 197 weight class.

To round out the dual, Christy earned the fall over Daniel Landando, needing nearly the whole match to get it. The heavyweights used most of the first period to size each other up with neither gaining an advantage. In the second period, Christy picked his spots and went on the offensive. Grinding it out in the third period, Christy was determined to pick up the fall and did just that with three seconds to spare in the match.
