Jayhawks Drop Home Dual To Gannon University

JAMESTOWN - Hosting their first home dual of the season, the Jamestown Community College wrestling team fell to NCAA Division II Gannon University Saturday afternoon by a score of 23-11.

The Jayhawks (4-5) started out the dual down 7-0 but got on the board thanks to 141-pounder Joey Pillittieri (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS). Pillittieri continued to wear down his opponents, this time it was Anthony Corigliano falling victim as Pillittieri came away with a 20-5 tech. fall victory.

The Golden Knights claimed the next three matches to hold a 23-5 advantage. Of the six available weight classes during the stretch, the 165, 174, and 184 pound matches were double forfeits.

Heavyweight Alex Christy (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia HS) closed the dual out in style, getting the fall in two minutes over Bret Huffman.

In exhibition action, Brendon Ramsey (Panama, NY/Panam Central) got the fall over Dylan Mayer, needing 1:13 to do so. Pillittieri picked up his second victory of the afternoon, coming away with a 10-3 decision victory over Caleb Adamowicz.
