Jayhawks Put Up Solid Fight at Pitt Bradford

BRADFORD, PA - It's going to be tough for the Jamestown Community College wrestling team to earn a win with its roster down to four members, but those who made the trip to Pitt Bradford Tuesday night put up a good fight in a 35-10 dual loss.

The four Jayhawks who did take the mat were able to secure three wins and took those matches by a score of 9-5.

In the 133lb class, it was Gavin Warner (Jamestown, NY / Pulaski County HS) earning a 12-4 majority decision.

Flipping to 141lbs, Ryan Parton (Macedon, NY / Penfield High School) also claimed victory with a 10-8 final score.

The one setback for Jamestown came in the 149lb weight class where Nicholas Ewan (Jamestown, NY / Jamestown, HS) dropped a tech fall.

The third win of the night came in 184lbs, where Kyle Keefe (Falconer, NY / Falconer, HS) scraped out a 7-6 decision to give JCC the best of those four matches.

The Jayhawks' wrestlers have a few days between competitions as they head to Erie for the Gannon Throwdown on Thursday, January 18th.
