Wrestling To Host One-Day Clinic

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Community College wrestling head coach Brian Dowdall has announced that the team will be running a summer wrestling clinic on Saturday, August 5th.

 

The wrestling clinic will be held at the Physical Education Complex located at 290 Curtis Street in Jamestown. The clinic is open to both boys and girls that will be entering seventh grade through twelfth grade. Preregistration is open until Thursday, July 15th where it will be $70 per wrestler or $350 with six wrestlers from the same team. Walk-ups are welcome with the cost of $80 per wrestler or $400 with six wrestlers from the same team.

 

The schedule of the day is as follows:

8:00am – Registration

9:00am – Session I

11:00am – Lunch

12:30pm – Session II

2:30pm – Swimming

4:00pm – Session III

6:00pm – Dismissal

Wrestlers should bring clothing for three sessions plus swimwear.

 

Session I will be instructed by JCC head coach Brian Dowdall where he will go through hand fighting & underhooks to go along with seated escapes & reversals.

 

Session II will be instructed by Williamsville North assistant coach and NCAA DI three-time All-American at Michigan, Jeff Catrabone. Catrabone will go through high half-nelsons and leg levers.

 

Session III will be instructed by Lock Haven University women’s wrestling head coach, men’s associate head coach, and NCAA DI National Champion at Illinois, Matt Lackey. Lackey will go through neutral positioning, shot defense, & short offense to go along with breakdowns & high leg turns.
