Spotlight Athlete of the Week
March 22, 2016

Dylan Glatz is recognized as the Jayhawks Spotlight Athlete of the Week for March 22, 2016.  Glatz is a freshman on the golf team at JCC.

Glatz has lived in Jamestown his entire life.  The fact that he was able to go to JCC on the USA scholarship and play golf with a team of strong athletes was a great opportunity for him in choosing a path.  He has played golf since 7th grade when he fell in love with the sport.  There were no doubts as to whether he would join or not.  The combination of being able to compete while also having a team that motivates everyone to play their best is the best aspect of JCC athletics for Glatz.  There are many great and talented people on the team this year.

For the season, Glatz personally would like to win the National Championship both individually and as a team.  We host it here and he thinks they have a solid chance.  The goal is to win every tournament the team plays in during the season.  Of course much time and hard work will be put in working toward these goals.  Next year he plans on going to St.  Bonaventure and finishing a Management and Sport Management degree while also playing golf there.  Afterwards he hopes to finding work somewhere in the golf field.

To aspiring athletes, Glatz says, "Just keep working hard; getting to where you want to be doesn't come easy.  It comes with a lot of hard work and determination."
