Jayhawks Finish Regular Season With The WNYAC Meet At ECC

BUFFALO - Wrapping up the regular season, the Jamestown Community College men's swimming & diving team finished 1-2 at the Western New York Athletic Conference Meet held at Erie Community College.

 

The Jayhawks (2-5, 2-4 WNYAC) defeated Erie Community College 75-33, while falling to Genesee Community College 53-92 and Monroe Community College 51-84.

 

Joeseph Keyser (Mayville, NY/Chautauqua Lake Central) continues to have a strong season since coming aboard, finishing with a time of 56.66 in the 100 yard freestyle to finish first. 

 

Jackson Vanstrom (Jamestown, NY/Southwestern High) was the other Jayhawk to post a first-place finish, posting a time of 13:25.82 in the 1000 yard freestyle.

 

Cole Carlson (Boonsboro, MD/Southwestern High) finished second in the 200 yard freestyle, posting a new personal best of 2:06.07.

 

Colby Pantall (Jamestown, NY/Maple Grove HS) also posted a second-place finish, setting a new personal best in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:49.29.

 

To begin the evening, the team of Keyser, Pantall, Carlson, and Matthew Fennell (Fourways Garden, Johannesburg, South Africa/King Edwards VII School) finished second in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:56.50.

 

The Jayhawks will be off until Saturday, February 12th, as they travel to Monroe Community College for the NJCAA Region 3 Championships.
