Jayhawks Drop Season Opener To FLCC

ELMA – In their first game of the season, the Jamestown Community College women's soccer team fell to Region 3 opponent Finger Lakes Community College by a score of 3-0 Wednesday afternoon at Sahlen's Soccer Park.

 

The Jayhawks (0-1, 0-1 Region 3) saw plenty of opportunities to get the ball in the net, ripping six shots on net. Sophomore forward Holland Isaacson (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS) led the way with three shots on goal with freshman forward Brynne Conley (Lakewood, NY/Southwestern High) getting off two shots.

 

Freshman goalkeeper Jolize Beukman (Centrurion, Gauteng, South Africa/Hoerskool Zwartkop) went the distance in net, making 10 saves in her collegiate debut.

 

The Jayhawks will be off until next Wednesday, September 7th, as they travel to No. 5 Genesee Community College for a 4 p.m. game.
