Men's Soccer Awarded The Fourth Seed In Regionals

JAMESTOWN – With the conclusion of the regular season in the rearview, the Jamestown Community College men’s soccer team will be gearing up for competition for the NJCAA Region 3 playoffs.

The Jayhawks enter the playoffs as the fourth seed overall with a region record of 8-2-1, earning themselves a first-round bye into the regional semifinals.

“Before I arrived here at JCC in 2008, the program has only made the playoffs three times with each being the lowest seed,” said Head Coach Pat Anderson. “This is the highest seed a JCC team has ever earned. We have been the fifth and sixth seed multiple times but never have managed to earn the automatic bye and a semifinal home game that comes as being a top-four seed. In our region, it is very difficult to finish in the top four.”

JCC will face Onondaga Community College, who went 8-3 in region play. The teams will play on the campus of Jamestown Community College next Wednesday, October 26th, with a 2 p.m. start time.
