Jayhawks Drop Home Contest To Gannon University

JAMESTOWN - To wrap up the first full week of competition, the Jamestown Community College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Gannon University Friday afternoon at the campus' soccer field.

 

The Jayhawks (1-1-1) had their fair share of shot opportunities, getting 11 shots on net. Defenseman George Glover (Leeds, England/Allerton Grange School) had the most looks at the net, getting off three shots. Forward Ethan Richardson (Llanharan, Wales/Bridgend College) and midfielder Jesse Plaatjes (Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa/Northwood) each had two shots on goal.

 

Freshman goalkeeper Paladi Lamani (Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa/Pretoria Boys HS) saw his first action in goal this season, making seven saves as he went the distance.

 

JCC will see their first true road test of the season as they travel to No. 4 Genesee Community College next Wednesday, September 7th, for a 6:30 p.m. start.
