Jayhawks Draw With Bryant & Stratton-Rochester To Open The Season

ROCHESTER - It was a defensive battle Saturday evening at the Empire United Soccer Academy as the Jamestown Community College men's soccer team got the draw against Bryant & Stratton-Rochester with the final score 0-0.

"I thought our guys played very well this evening," said head coach Pat Anderson. "We had some opportunities to get the ball in the net but it did not go our way. This was a good test for us to open the season, playing against a four-year institution. We'll watch the film to get ready for our next contest."

The Jayhawks (0-0-1) saw four scoring opportunities on the evening but all four were stopped by the Bobcats' keeper.

Freshman goalkeeper Gavin Roux (East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa/Selborne College) went the distance in goal, stopping all five shot attempts from the Bobcats' offense.

JCC will jump right into Region 3 action this Wednesday, August 31st, as they host Finger Lakes Community College at 2 p.m.
