JCC gets the win on the road against Roberts Wesleyan

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Jamestown Community College men-s soccer team knocked off NCAA Division II Roberts Wesleyan College, 3-1 Friday evening, in a friendly match.

The Jayhawks (10-4-3, 1-1-1 WNYAC) found themselves down early in the match, with the Redhawks scoring in the first minute. JCC was able to answer back in the 15th minute with Luuk Willemsen finding the back of the net off the feed from Axel Richardson to tie the game at 1-1. The Jayhawks were able to take the lead in the 40th minute with a Kean Thomas goal. Jesse Da Costa was credited with the assist.

Da Costa was able to break the scoring column, scoring in the 71st minute to cap off the night for the Jayhawks.

Goalkeeper Jakob Moore made four saves on five shots faced. Thomas Harrington saw 16 minutes in net, making two saves on two shots faced.

JCC outshot Roberts Wesleyan 23-17 while also holding the advantage on corner kicks, 6-2.

The Jayhawks will await news from the league office about postseason play.
