Ntuli's Late-Game Heroics Push Jayhawks Past The Saints

JAMESTOWN - Coming off a strong performance against No. 4 Genesee Community College, the Jamestown Community College men's soccer team came away with a 3-1 decision victory against North Country Community College Saturday afternoon.

The Jayhawks (2-2-1, 2-1 Region 3) fell behind early in the match with the Saints getting the lead in the eighth minute of action. JCC responded late in the first half as freshman Alex Watt (Belfast, Northern Ireland/Campbell College) got his first collegiate goal in the 34th minute off the feed from sophomore Tiago Aguilar as the team went into the half.

After a back-and-forth battle for most the second half, sophomore Tshepiso Ntuli (Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa/Pretoria Boys HS) was able to find paydirt off a beautiful crosser from freshman James Cassidy (Glasgow, Scotland/Calderglen HS) in the 79th minute. Ntuli iced the game in the 90th minute as fellow countryman Tholo Malebo (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Crawford International-Lonehill) set him up for the score.

Freshman goalkeeper Gavin Roux (East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa/Selbourne College) got the win in net, making three saves on four attempts.

The Jayhawks will now begin their three-game road trip as they travel to Monroe Community College on Tuesday, September 13th, for a 4 p.m. game.
