FORT PIERCE, FL - Records are made to be broken, and Jamestown Community College lived up to the adage at the end of Day 3 of the NJCAA swimming and diving national championships at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Florida.

The night concluded with the 200-yard medley relay, where the Jayhawk ladies finished fourth in the nation and set a new program record swimming a 1:56:88. The team of Paiden Wittmeyer, Anna Jones, Madison Kramer, and Lindsey Spitz earned All-American status for their top eight finish. The men followed that up with another school record by the team of Lukas Baer, Maxim Johnson, Toby Gifford, and Brady Lindstrom. The group swam a 1:47:69, good enought for eighth, and Lindstrom broke the program's backstroke top mark in the process. The four men also earned the All-American title for finishing in the top eight.

"Night three ended with more records falling on both sides. Brady Lindstrom had quite the day with five swims and five records. Max Johnson also did the same thing with two swims and two records. Proud of the fight the boys are coming with each day we are in a dog fight for the runner-up spot," said head coach Todd Conklin.

That was the end of the day, but in the beginning, it was the 100-yard individual medley (IM) where Wittmeyer claimed 13th in a time of 1:12:93, teammate Stacey Blackler swam a personal-best of 1:12:47 to finish 12th, and earned All-American honorable mention for finishing within the top 12. In the men's IM, Lindstrom finished ninth, swimming a 54:79 and setting another program record in the process.

Ella Fosberg put up a season-best performance in her 500-yard freestyle, clocking a 6:10:25 and finishing ninth.

Next up was the swim of the day for the Jayhawks when reigning female swimmer of the meet Madison Kramer brought home third in the 100-yard backstroke with a 59:24, a personal-best for the sophomore.

In the 100-yard breaststroke events, Lindsey Spitz claimed a spot on the podium with a seventh place showing of 1:12:23. Lindstrom had another school record in his swim, notching a 1:12:23 and a 13th place overall.

Finally, we had the 200-yard butterfly. On the women's side, Hayley Dawson raced a 2:47:76 for a personal-best time and a ninth place finish. She was followed up by Anna Jones' time of 2:57:36. The best individual men's performance came in the 200-yard butterfly, where Max Johnson earned fourth place with a time of 1:56:02, and another JCC record. 

"On the girls' side, the message was clear to keep doing what we've done the first two days, and they didn't disappoint. We have one day left, and I could not be happier with where we sit in the standings and the fight each kid is giving. One final session to finish an epic season," added Conklin.

The diving season ended on Friday night for JCC, with Ashlynn Swan diving in the 3-meter event. She scored 196.55, taking a fourth place spot on the podium and earning another All-American tag with her top-eight showing.

"I'm really proud of Ashlynn. She had a good morning, and we switched her list, which is hard on anyone, and she blew it out of the water. She is now a two-time all-American," mentioned diving coach Claire Johnson.

The final day of the competition starts early Saturday morning. JCC's ladies enter the finale first in the non-scholarship division, while the men sit in second.
