JCC Men's and Women's Soccer Prep Region 3 Playoffs

JAMESTOWN, NY - It'll be another busy weekend for the Jamestown Community College soccer teams. The women are first up as they travel to SUNY Broome on Saturday for their opening regional playoff matchup. Jayhawks' head coach Heather Ross is elated for this opportunity her ladies have earned, "We are excited to be competing this season. Going to playoffs for the first time since 2016 is an honor and a privilege." JCC enters the contest with a 3-7-2 record, but it's not the wins and losses that count when setting a foundation for a program, according to Ross, "We are building a program to be successful inside and outside of the game of soccer. Opportunities don't come around like this for everyone, and we definitely want to enjoy every minute of it." On the other bench, Broome comes in at 7-5 on the season, including a 6-0 win over Jamestown last month. The game time for this one is 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The men keep up their frequent driver status as they travel back to Jefferson Community College for their regional playoff opener on Sunday at noon. "Playoffs are high intensity with the pressure of elimination and ending the season with a loss. We have played a lot of one-goal games against very good competition this season, which should help us on Sunday," said JCC head coach Pat Anderson. One of the Jayhawks' one-goal games came at Jefferson earlier this month when they won 3-2. The Jayhawks enter this contest with a 4-13-1 mark, while Jefferson is 7-7.
