SYRACUSE – Making the trip down I-90, the Jamestown Community College women's soccer team drew with Onondaga Community College 1-1 Wednesday evening.

The Jayhawks (0-8-2, 0-9-1 Region 3) got on the board early in the first half as freshman midfielder Raena Bird (Jamestown, NY/Frewsburg HS) found the back of the net off the feed from sophomore midfielder Holland Isaacson (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS) in the 23rd minute of action.

The Lazers, who were ranked in the top-10 of the NJCAA Division III polls a week ago and still receiving votes this week, were able to answer in the 44th to tie things up.

Despite the Jayhawks physical play in the second half and both overtime periods, neither team was able to get the game-deciding goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Jolize Beukman (Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa/Hoerskool Zwartkop) went the distance in net, making eight saves on nine attempts.

The Jayhawks will be back in action next Monday, October 17th, as they travel to Tompkins Cortland Community College for a 6 p.m. start time.
