Jayhawks Draw With Lorain County On Sophomore Day

JAMESTOWN – In their non-regional matchup with Lorain County Community College, the Jamestown Community College women's soccer team played to a draw with a score of 2-2 on Sophomore Day.

 

After a half of action, the Jayhawks (0-8-1) found themselves in a 2-0 deficit but their spirits did not waver.

 

Late into the game, forward Holland Isaacson (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS) found defender Reagan Chitester (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) to make it a 2-1 game in the 73rd minute of action.

 

JCC kept battling over the next several minutes as it paid off with forward Sheala Baressi (Westfield, NY/Westfield Central) tied the game up in the 80th minute with the assist going to forward Sienna Collins (Ripley, NY/Chautauqua Lake Central).

 

Goalkeeper Jolize Beukman (Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa/Hoerskool Zwartkop) went the distance in net, making four saves on six attempts.

 

Prior to the game, sophomores Isaacson and Yuribeth Castro (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) were recognized for their contributions to the women's soccer program over the past two years.

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Wednesday, October 12th, as they travel to No. 10 Onondaga Community College for a 5 p.m. start.
