Women's Soccer Drops Home Contest To North Country

JAMESTOWN - In another early season matchup against a tough opponent, the Jamestown Community College women's soccer team fell to North Country Community College by a score of 3-0 Saturday afternoon.

The Saints, who received votes in the latest NJCAA DIII women's soccer rankings, took a 2-0 lead in the first half and added another goal in the second half.

The Jayhawks (0-3, 0-2 Region 3) had three opportunities to get in the net with Raena Bird (Jamestown, NY/Frewsburg HS), Brynne Conley (Lakewood, NY/Southwestern High), and Reagan Chitester (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) all getting good looks to score.

Freshman goalkeeper Jolize Beukman (Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa/Hoerskool Zwartkop) went the distance in net, making seven saves on 10 attempts.

JCC will be back in action next Saturday, September 17th, as they travel to SUNY Broome Community College for a 1 p.m. game.
