Jayhawks Edged in Double OT Against the Timberwolves

QUEENSBURY – Looking to cap-off the weekend road trip with a win, the Jamestown Community College women's soccer team went to double overtime against SUNY Adirondack but ultimately fell, 3-2.

 

The Jayhawks (2-7, 0-2 WNYAC) got on the board first as sophomore Hannah Sholl (Jamestown, NY/Southwestern High) found freshman forward Jaclyn Bush (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS) for her first goal of the afternoon in the 24th minute of action.

 

The Timberwolves scored a paired a goal late in the second half just minutes apart to take the 2-1 lead with 26 minutes left in regulation. Bush knotted the game at 2-2 in the 78th minute off the feed from forward Holland Isaacson (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS).

 

Both teams kept battling throughout regulation but neither were able to get the game-winning goal.

 

Needing double overtime to determine a winner, SUNY Adirondack scored the game-winning goal in the 108th minute.

 

Freshman goalkeeper Lizzie Gordon (Corry, PA/Corry Area HS) went the distance in net, making 14 saves on 17 shots faced.

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Saturday, October 9th, as they host SUNY Broome Community College at 2:30 p.m.
