Wrestling Regionals Preview:

In an interview with assistant coach Kevin Strong, we get insights into the upcoming nationals, season so far, and what the future goals are:

Q: Who are your top performers and who is your biggest competitor?

A: Nate Skonieczny (Stow, OH), Howie Nolan (Bemus Point), and Naquan Warren (Long Island). Nate is our biggest competitor, he's a returning regional champion and placed third in the nation in 2016.

Q: What are you most looking forward to about the regionals?

A: We want to see if we can qualify more of our guys for nationals than last year.

Q: How has the season been so far?

A: We have had our ups and downs this year with injuries, but everyone has battled back from their injuries and are healthy. Also, our top guys are peaking at the right time.

Q: What have your biggest challenges been and how have your worked to overcome them?

A: We had a small squad so it's good and bad. Practices ae tough sometimes but the coaching staff has been great in helping out guys get to where they need to be. We're looking forward to next year and having our first recruiting class as a staff

Mercyhurst North East Univiersity will be hosting the NJCAA Region 3 National Qualifiers that will take place on February 12th starting at 10 a.m.
