Jayhawks Go 2-1 To Close Out WNYAC Schedule

BUFFALO – In their final WNYAC Meet of the season, the Jamestown Community College women's swimming & diving team went 2-1 at the Burt Flickinger Center.

 

The Jayhawks (6-1-1) defeated Genesee Community College by a score of 88-63 and Erie Community College by a score of 95-4. JCC fell to Monroe Community College by a score of 101-79.

 

"The kids are really swimming well and setting themselves up for a fantastic regionals and national swim meets," said head coach Todd Conklin. "I couldn't be happier with our results and where we are. But I also know that this team has so much more to give and can't wait for the championship portion of the season."

 

JCC was led once again by sophomore Madison Kramer (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) who came away with three wins on the night. Kramer posted a time of 26.09 in the 50 yard freestyle, 57.07 in the 100 yard freestyle, and 1:09.92 in the 100 yard backstroke.

 

Freshman Stacey Blackler (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Edenvale HS) came away with one win on the night, posting a time of 2:45.48 in the 200 yard IM. Sophomore Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Fourways HS) also picked up a first-place finish in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:10.25 and a second-place finish in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:37.85.

 

Freshman Hannah Eckert (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) picked up a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle (2:23.16) and in the 100 yard backstroke (1:14.88).

 

The relay team of Eckert, Fiebiger, Blackler, and Kylee Hennessy (Warren, PA/Warren Area HS) placed first in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:15.70.

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action next Wednesday, January 25th, as they travel to Fredonia State for a 6 p.m. meet.
