Jayhawks Have Strong Showing At The Monroe CC Invitational

ROCHESTER - Opening up the season at the Monroe Community College Invitational, the Jamestown Community College swimming & diving team had a strong outing.

 

Leading the Jayhawks was sophomore Madison Kramer (Falconer, NY/Falconer HS) who came away with wins in three events. Kramer set a new pool record in the 100 yard IM, finishing with a time of 1:07.39. Kramer also finished first in the 100 yard butterfly (1:08.25) and in the 100 yard backstroke (1:07.35).

 

Freshman Stacey Blackler (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Edenvale HS) had a strong showing in her collegiate debut, finishing with a trio of second-place finishes. Blacker posted times of 2:24.93 in the 200 yard freestyle, 2:42.77 in the 200 yard IM, and 1:06.02 in the 100 yard freestyle. Sophomore Jade Vidas (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Parktown HS for Girls) had a pair of second-place finishes in the 100 yard IM (1:14.56) and in the 500 yard freestyle (7:06.23).

 

Sophomore Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Fourways HS) also had a pair of second-place finishes, getting a new personal best in the 50 yard freestyle (28.01). Fiebiger also placed second in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:15.77.

 

On the men's side, Cole Carlson (Boonsboro, MD/Southwestern High) also had a strong first swim of the season, placing first in the 100 yard freestyle (55.91) and second in the 200 yard freestyle (2:05.40).

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action on Wednesday, November 16th, as they host the first WNYAC meet of the year at 6 p.m.
