New Record Set; Jayhawks Sit In Second

ROCHESTER - In the second day of the 2022 NJCAA Region 3 Swimming & Diving Championships, the Jamestown Community College women's swimming & diving currently sit third with a point total of 365.

 

Shannen Stein (Olean, NY/Portville Central) started the Jayhawks off right, placing first in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 32.61. 

 

Tia Moppert (Gowanda, NY/Gowanda HS) placed second in the 100 yard butterfly with a new best of 1:08.65. Jade Vidas (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Parktown HS for Girls) finished third in the event with a time of 1:12.38.

 

The relay team of Stein, Moppert, Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Fourways HS), and Kaylee Constantino (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) set a new school record in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:35.42. The relay also placed first in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:47.50.

 

In the third session, Constantino set a new school record in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.37. Stein also placed first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:11.65.

 

Fiebiger placed second in the 200 yard butterfly with a new personal best of 2:58.68.

 

In the 100 yard IM, Moppert placed third with a time of 1:09.33 while Vidas placed fourth and Lyon finished sixth.

 

The relay team of Stein, Constantino, Vidas, and Moppert placed first in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:00.94

 

Action will resume tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
