Constantino Sets New Record as Jayhawks Place First at JCC December Invitational

JAMESTOWN - Keeping the energy flowing in the fall semester of the season, the Jamestown Community College women's swimming & diving team placed first at the JCC December Invitational, finishing with 368 points.

 

Kaylee Constantino (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) was a bigger winner for the Jayhawks this morning, coming away with three first-place finishes in individual events. Highlighting her performance was the 200 yard breaststroke, setting a new school record with a time of 2:50.25. The previous record was held by Emily Holt, setting the mark back in 2012 with a time of 2:50.73.

 

Constantino also placed first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 27.06 and in the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 34.94, a new personal best.

 

JCC also had a trio of swimmers place first in two individual events.

 

Tia Moppert (Gowanda, NY/Gowanda HS) placed first in the 400 yard IM (5:34.50) and in the 100 yard freestyle (1:00.48). Moppert also placed second in the 100 yard IM with a time of 1:10.59.

 

Shannen Stein (Olean, NY/Portville Central) placed first in the 50 yard butterfly with a new personal best of 31.49. Stein also had a first-place finish in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:41.45. Stein finished her day with a second-place finish in the 50 yard freestyle, posting a new personal best of 28.28.

 

Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Fourways HS) had a big day as well, placing first in two individual events as well. Fiebiger placed first in the 200 yard butterfly (3:20.20) and 50 yard backstroke (36.25). Fiebiger also placed second in the 200 yard freestyle, posting a new personal best of 2:25.54.

 

Jade Vidas (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Parkstown HS for Girls) had another strong showing, placing second in the 50 yard butterfly (31.60) and 100 yard freestyle (1:06.92).

 

The relay team of Stein, Constantino, Fiebiger, and Moppert placed first in the 200 yard medley relay, posting a time of 2:05.70.

 

The Jayhawks will wrap up the 2021 portion of their schedule next Saturday, December 11th, as they travel to the University of Pitt-Bradford for a dual starting at 1:00 p.m.
