Jayhawks Play the Beautiful Game in 4-0 Win

JAMESTOWN, NY - "Did you see that?" was echoed by the Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's soccer bench on several occasions as the Jayhawks topped Fulton-Montgomery Community College 4-0 on a perfect Sunday afternoon in the Southerm Tier.

For the second straight day, Jamestown jumped out to an early lead, with David Luque scoring in the ninth minute on an assist from Braidan Govan. The goal was his fifth in two days and put JCC up 1-0.

Luque scored his second of the day in the 34th when he juked a pair of defenders, then found himself one-on-one with the goalie, and he did not miss the point-blank attempt for a 2-0 Jayhawks' advantage.

The 2-0 score held into the second half, where Luque turned from scorer to assister, displaying the beautiful part of the game in a pass to Dominique Malhomme, and the fellow sophomore did not miss to make it 3-0.

It was Malhomme again in the 80th minute to put the game on ice. The Frenchman has four goals on the weekend.

In net, Cian Galvin kept a clean sheet, stopping all five attempts that came his way, including a pair of diving blocks in the scoreless win.

Next up for JCC is another home game as they welcome SUNY Broome to town on Wednesday, September 18th, at 4:30 PM.
