Jayhawks Fall To The Lazers In Region 3 Semifinals

JAMESTOWN – A historic season comes to an end for the Jamestown Community College men's soccer team, falling to No. 5 Onondaga Community College by a score of 5-1 in the NJCAA Region 3 Semifinal game.

 

The Jayhawks (10-6-2) found themselves down early in the first half with a score of 3-0 heading into the break. The Lazers added a pair of goals in the second half to make it 5-0. Sophomore forward Ethan Richardson (Llanharan, Wales/Bridgend College) got a goal back in the 75th minute of play thanks to the setup from sophomore midfielder Mario Alberto Campo (Santa Marta, Colombia/Gimnasio de los Cerros).

 

Freshman forward Alex Watt (Belfast, Northern Ireland/Campbell College) had chances on the net as well, getting four shots off on goal.

 

Freshman goalkeeper Gavin Roux (East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa/Selborne College) went the distance in net, making 11 saves on 16 attempts.

 

The Jayhawks will look to rebuild in the offseason with a core group returning for the next season.
