Jayhawks Men's Soccer vs. Mohawk Valley CC

The Jamestown Community College Jayhawks men's soccer team (7-11-2, NJCAA Div. III) traveled to face off against the Hawks of Mohawk Valley Community College (14-3-1, NJCAA Div. III) with a bid for the regional final on the line. Coming in as the #11 seed, the Jayhawks played the role of underdog going against the #3 seed Hawks. The first period ended in a 0-0 tie as both defenses played sharp. The second period ended in a 0-0 tie as both defenses and goalies refused to allow an advantage to their opponent's shots on goal. After two scoreless overtime periods, the game went into a shootout format. The Jayhawks scored 5 goals to the Hawks 3 goals to secure the upset victory. The Jayhawk defense that held the Hawks scoreless was led #25 Brenton Walker's (Australia) 10 saves and helped continue the Jayhawks' unbeaten streak for the fifth game in a row and put the Jayhawks into the regional final.
