Jamestown Plays to a Draw With Jefferson

JAMESTOWN, NY - Despite a steady rainstorm, the Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's soccer team showed flashes of brilliance in their nil-nil draw with Jefferson Community College.

The Jayhawks had a beautiful chance to take the lead in the 29th minute when David Luque blasted a shot off the pipe that just squeaked above the keeper's hands.

It was another chance for Luque later in the half that was stopped by Tobias Lau to preserve the tie.

The Jayhawks' Cian Galvin was masterful in net, too, making a spectacular diving save late in the period to keep his score sheet clean.

It looked like JCC might break through near full time on a give-and-go between Braiden Govan and Gauthier Acloque, but the duo couldn't find the back of the net.

All told, Jamestown had five shots on goal while Galvin made five saves.

Jamestown looks to get in the win column on Sunday when they host Onondaga Community College at 3:30 PM.
