My name is Josh, and I am a sophomore member of the Jayhawks soccer team.  During my years attending Jamestown High School, I played on their soccer and tennis teams and was quite successful.  I was an AP Scholar and a recipient of the USA Scholarship.  Varsity soccer team captain, Scholar Athlete, and ECIC Team 3 Nominee were other titles I received during my career.  Additionally, I made the Dean's List for the fall 2014 semester here at JCC.  My favorite athlete is Brizilian soccer star Neymar.  Currently my area of study is the Computer Science program, and I hope to start my own business and have the ability to travel as well.  Remaining involved with soccer is important to me as well, either as a player or coach.

Q: What attracted you to Jamestown Community College Athletics?

Mostly soccer; I received the USA Scholarship and my brother played here, so I figured I’d continue playing soccer here and hopefully go on to play at the next level.

Q: Why the soccer team?

My brother played on the team before, and talking to Pat in high school gave me a good feeling about the program.

Q: What do you enjoy the most about college athletics?

Knowing that I’m at an even higher level than I was in high school and you can make a lot of connections through it.

Q: What are your goals for this season?

As a team, make it back to the regional championships, and to have a winning season.

Q: Where do you see yourself in the future? (Career, life, etc.)

After JCC, I want to play my next few years at potentially Penn State Behrend, and hopefully get a job in my field (computer science).

Q: Do you have any advice for aspiring athletes?

Don’t be intimidated. If you find a way to work hard you’re not going to ruin your academics; it’s not hard to find a balance.
