Spotlight Athlete of the Week
February 10, 2016

This week's Spotlight Athlete of the Week is Tyler Aitcheson.  He is on the wrestling team for the Jayhawks and is a sophomore student here at JCC.

Aitcheson wrestled in high school at Dunkirk High School.  JCC was a good fit for him in college, because he already knew many of the other athletes on the team.  He chose this school because it gave him the opportunity to work hard and find success both in athletics and in the classroom.  The constant competitiveness, both of practice and competitions, along with traveling with the wrestling team have been a few of his favorite parts of the experience so far.

Nationals are just around the corner, and Aitcheson's goal is to finish out the season strong in hopes of qualifying.  After graduating from here, he plans to transfer to Fredonia State University to pursue a degree in Sport Management.

"JCC is a great place to be successful both in the classroom and in your sport," said Aitcheson, "but you have to put effort in because you only get out what you put in." Great words of advice to those continuing their athletic career at the collegiate level, regardless of the sport.
