Jayhawks Add Last-Minute Game Against Bryant & Stratton

JAMESTOWN, NY - Jamestown Community College men's basketball added a game to their schedule Tuesday, agreeing to host Bryant & Stratton (Rochester) on Wednesday, February 7th, at 6:00 PM inside the JCC PHED Complex.

"With the loss of a few games due to weather and other circumstances out of our control, we were looking to add more opportunities for our student-athletes to give them the best possible experience here at JCC. Oftentimes, what our students want is more competition, so we jumped at the chance to add Bryant and Stratton even on such short notice," said JCC athletic director George Sisson.

The addition of this game builds on a busy 11-day stretch for the Jayhawks, with six games during that period.

JCC is led by freshman Jhamien Smith, who is second in Region 3 in scoring, with 17.2 points per game. The Erie native is also fifth in the region in rebounding and third in field goal percentage. Jamestown also features the third leader in assists per game, with Iverson Plaza at 3.1 per game. The Jayhawk defense has been lockdown, with three of the top twelve players in steals per game.

"I tell my team we'll play anyone, anytime, anywhere. This was an opportunity for me to put that into action. We're ready for the challenge," - added JCC head men's basketball coach Xavier Churnac.

After hosting Bryant and Stratton on Wednesday, JCC plays host to Community College of Beaver County on Friday at 7:30 PM. That game tips after the women's game, which starts at 5:30. They then travel to Erie Community College for a road league test on Saturday at 3:00 PM.

JCC games are FREE for all spectators. The home games are also streamed on our YouTube Channel @SUNYJCCJayhawks.
