There will be lots of JCC Playoff Action this week as both the women's and men's basketball team will be in action along with JCC wrestler Nate Skonieczny who will be competing in the Region III NJCAA Nationals.

Nate Skonieczny has been dominant all wrestling season and shined in the Northeast District 1 Region 3 Tournament that was held here at JCC where he not only won a place in the Nationals at the 149lb weight class, but he was also named Most Valuable Wrestler of the tournament for all weight classes.  Nate will be wrestling in the NJCAA Division III Nationals on Friday, February 26^th in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The JCC women's basketball team will face the Kats of Erie Community College.  JCC is led by the trio of #32 Alisha Szumigala (Forestville), #4 Bianca Brown (Niagara Falls), and #33 Brianne Davis (Bemus Point).  Alisha is averaging a double double with 13 points per game and 10 rebounds per game.  Bianca is averaging 10 points per game and 4 rebounds per game.  Breanne is averaging 7 points per game, 3 assists per game, and 3 rebounds per game.  The women will play at 6 pm on Wednesday, February 24^th at Erie Community College in the Sub-regional game.

The JCC men's basketball team will face the winner of the Saints of Mercyhurst North East and the Kats of Erie Community College matchup.  JCC is led by the trio of #24 Rakim Lesane (Coney Island), #22 Samuel Joseph (Brooklyn), and #21 Kyle Taylor-Mcleggan (Harlem).  Rakim is averaging 21 points per game and 7 rebounds per game.  Samuel is averaging 17 points per game and 4 rebounds per game.  Kyle is averaging 16 points per game and 3 rebounds per game.  On defense, the Jayhawks are led by #40 Brian Roberts who is averaging 7 rebounds per game and 2 blocks per game.  The men will play on Saturday, February 27^th at Monroe Community College.  If the Jayhawks defeat their opponent on Saturday, they will play on Sunday at 12 pm for the Region III Regional Championship.
