Men's Baseball vs CC of Allegheny County (Double Header)

The JCC Jayhawks men's baseball team (NJCAA Div II, 1-8) went on the road to play the Community College of Allegheny County (Boyce Campus).  Game 1 saw the Jayhawks bats were alive and well in the first 2 innings, scoring 6 runs.  On defense, thing worked to perfecting as after 3 inning the score was JCC 6, CCAC 0.  The 4th inning saw an offensive explosion for the Jayhawks as lessons from earlier defeats in the season seemed to come together with an 8 run inning.  The Jayhawks defense never let up as they shut out CCAC 14-0 for their first win of the season.  On offense, the Jayhawks were led by #3 John White (Warren) who scored 3 runs and had 2 stolen bases; #21 Robbie Burgess (Westfield) scored 3 runs, 2 hits (including a triple), and 2 RBI's;  #7 Noah Weinstein (Jamestown) scored 1 run, had 2 hits (including a double), and 1 RBI; #10 Michael Williamson (Cuba) scored 2 runs, had 3 hits (including a double), 2 RBI's and 1 stolen base; #30 Adam Gullo (Jamestown) had 1 run, 2 hits (including a double), 1 sacrifice fly, and 3 RBI's; #4 Justin Forster (East Otto) had 1 run, 2 hits (including a double), 2 RBI's, and 1 stolen base; #23 Andrew Latona (Jamestown) had 1 run, 1 hit, and 1 RBI; #5 Kyle Mayer (Mayville) had 1 run, 1 hit (a double), 1 RBI, and 1 stolen base; and #2 Cam Haberberger (Jamestown) had 1 run, 2 hits, and 1 RBI on a sacrifice fly.  The Jayhawks defense was led by pitcher #18 Michael Wilcox (Falconer) who pitched all 5 innings, facing 17 batters and defiantly only giving up 2 hits.

Game 2 saw the Jayhawks slump back into their bad habit of falling behind early as CCAC outscored the Jayhawks 6-1 in the first two innings.  The Jayhawks settled down and began to claw their way back into the ball game with the score 6-4 to start the 5th inning.  CCAC scored again in the 5th and 6th inning to make the score 8-4.  The Jayhawks almost rallied, scoring 2 runs in the 7th, but fell short losing to CCAC 8-6.  The Jayhawks offense was led by #7 Noah Weinstein (Jamestown) who scored 1 run and had a sacrifice fly RBI; #8 Michael Keller (Clarence) had 1 run and 1 hit; #9 Jeff Miller (Jamestown) scored 2 runs, had 1 hit and 1 stolen base; #17 Gavin Beaumont (Falconer) scored 1 run and had 1 stolen base; #10 Michael Williamson (Cuba) scored 1 run and had 1 hit; and #11 Bryce Sherrard (Youngsville), #2 Cam Haberberger (Jamestown), and #4 Justin Forster (East Otto) each had a stolen base.  On defense, #25 Jeremy Cole (Sherman) (0-1) took the loss despite having a solid outing facing 24 batters in 5 innings, allowing 5 earned runs and 9 hits while striking out 7 batters.
