Justin Forster plays baseball for the Jayhawks of JCC, and is a sophomore student here.  Football, basketball, and baseball were all sports he played during his athletic career in high school.  Forster was named 1st Team League All Star both his junior and senior years.  He was captain for all three teams two years.  Numerous awards and accolades were received for football as well.  Forster's favorite team is the New York Yankees.  His major is Physical Education Studies, and after graduation his plans are to earn a bachelor's degree in that field.  After that he looks to earn a master's degree, begin work, and coach.

Spotlight Athlete of the Week

Justin Forster is being recognized as our Spotlight Athlete for this week.  He is a a sophomore member of the baseball team and majors in Physical Education Studies.

JCC is a close drive to Forster's hometown, which made it easier for his family and friends to attend games.  He says the baseball facility here is second to none.  Having the opportunity to play in it on a daily basis was a huge role in my decision to come to JCC for the team.  Having the chance to compete every day with a great group of guys was something he was looking forward to going into baseball.  The best part about college athletics has been the opportunity to play against top competition, something that greatly intrigued him.  The competition and ability to play made JCC the perfect place to start off his college athletic career.

After JCC, Forster will be pursuing a career in Physical Education.  He hopes to launch into a coaching career.

For aspiring athletes both looking at JCC and elsewhere, Forster says to take advantage of every opportunity given to you.  "Sometimes you're vision for success isn't the same as the coaches'," he said.  "But you need to trust your coaches and keep working hard for the benefit of the team."
