Jayhawks Baseball vs Patrick Henry CC (Double Header)

The JCC Jayhawks men's baseball team (NJCAA Div II, 0-4) went on the road to play the Patriots of Patrick Henry Community College (NJCAA Div II, 4-0) in a double header.   The Jayhawks lost game 1 by the score 16-3. #3 John White (Warren) made his first collegiate start on the mound over three innings. White surrendered 8 runs, while giving up 4 hits. #20 Austin Mitchell (Randolph) also made his collegiate pitching debut over two innings in relief. Mitchell gave up 4 runs on 3 hits. #25 Jeremy Cole (Sherman) finished the game for the Jayhawks, pitching one inning, while giving up runs on two hits. 

Offensively the Jayhawks bats found some life, producing 3 runs on 7 hits. #21 Robbie Burgess (Westfield) led off the top of the fourth with a base hit and the next batter, #4 Justin Forster (East Otto), executed a textbook sacrifice bunt to move the runner over. The next batter, Mike Williamson, ripped a single back up the middle to score Burgess from 2nd. Top 6, Forster leads of the inning with a walk and Mike Williamson reached safely on an error. Freshman, #23 Andrew Latona (Jamestown), collected his first collegiate hit and RBI with a single up the middle, scoring Forster. Later in the inning, #9 Jeff Miller (Jamestown), draws a walk to load the bases with two outs. #2 Cam Haberberger (Jamestown) connects with his second hit of the game and driving in Williamson. The Jayhawks offense was lead by #5 Kyle Mayer (Mayville) went 1-4 with a single; #21 Robbie Burgess (Westfield) 1-2 with a single and run scored; Mike Williamson 1-4 with a single and an RBI; Andrew Latona 1-3 with a single and an RBI; Jeff Miller 1-2 with a walk and base hit; and Cam Haberberger 2-3 with two singles and an RBI.

The Jayhawks lost game 2 byt the score of 14-3 to lead to a 4-0 sweep by the Patriots over the Jayhawks for the weekend.
