JAMESTOWN - Outsider hitter Jenna Caskey was named the Western New York Athletic Conference Senior Female Athlete of the Year, the conference office announced.

 Couldn’t be more proud of Jenna and her accomplishments this year,” said Ashly Lund, head coach of the JCC volleyball team. “Adding the WNYAC Senior Female Athlete of the Year to her accolades is an incredible accomplishment.”

Caskey, a Sinclairville native, had an outstanding final season for the Jamestown Community College volleyball team. During the 2019 season, she helped the Jayhawks to a 30-7 record.

Caskey’s play during the regular season was noticed by the rest of the conference as she was named to the All-WNYAC team while also being named the WNYAC Player of the Year. Her accomplishments did not end there as she was named Region III Player of the Week twice during the season.

Caskey’s stellar play was echoed throughout the rest of the region as she was honored as an All-Region First Team selection while also being named Region III Player of the Year. Caskey’s play carried over to the postseason where she helped the Jayhawks win the Region III Tournament and earn a berth to the national tournament for the third year in a row. During the tournament, Caskey was all over the court and earned the tournament Most Valuable Player award.

While at the national championships, Caskey helped lead JCC to a seventh place finish. While at the national championships, she was selected to the DIII National Volleyball Championship All-Tournament Team. to cap off her season, Caskey was selected to the NJCAA DIII All-America First Team.

Caskey play was on another level during the season. Caskey was sixth in the nation in DIII for kills with 434 while being ranked second in the nation in aces with 93.

“Caskey has worked incredibly hard that she was an athlete for me and to see it continue to pay off for her is a wonderful sight,” Lund added. “I am grateful that she chose JCC as a starting point and I can’t wait to see her blossom even more while at West Liberty University.”

Caskey will continue her academic and athletic career at West Liberty University, a NCAA DII institution, located in West Virginia.
