Jayhawks Squander Early Lead in 2-1 Loss to SUNY Broome

JAMESTOWN, NY - The afternoon started out with some sunshine but turned gloomy as the Jamestown Community College (JCC) women's soccer game played out; unfortunately for Jamestown, the game mirrored the weather.

JCC jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 41st minute as Teagan Kosinski found a streaking Amara Pacheco, who buried the game's opening goal. The freshmen duo continues a strong showing in 2024.

The one-goal advantage held into halftime with Morgan Maloney holding a clean sheet at that point, stopping all five shots she faced.

The second half, like the weather, turned on the Jayhawks.

SUNY Broome only mustered three shots in the final 45 minutes, but a pair of them found the back of the Jamestown net.

Those two goals proved to be too much for JCC, as the ladies fell 2-1.

Jamestown is back on the pitch on Sunday at 1:00 PM when they host Lorain County Community College.
