Jayhawks Make it Four Straight Wins

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Jayhawks women's basketball team stayed hot on the road as Jamestown Community College (JCC) topped Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) 61-54.

Jamestown opened up a quick lead, winning the first quarter 18-7 behind great shooting from sophomores Jennica Berens and Myla Truitt, who combined to make 13 of 24 field goals on the day. The duo led JCC in scoring with 16 from Berens and 14 from Tuitt.

The lead grew in the second quarter, JCC outscoring CCAC 15-11 to take a 33-18 advantage to the break.

Jamestown's edge dwindled a bit in the second half, where CCAC outscored the Jayhawks 36-28, but it wasn't enough to overcome the fast start.

The win is now four in a row for JCC to improve their record to 4-1 on the season.

The ladies are back on the court Saturday, November 16th, at 4:00 PM when they take on Lackawanna College in the SUNY Niagara Tip-Off Classic.
