Jayhawks look to Avenge Season-Opening Loss

JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Community College will be back in action this Saturday after a five day hiatus as they travel to No. 20 Lackawanna College.

 

The Jayhawks (1-1) will look to avenge their 111-102 season-opening loss against the Falcons. Four players scored in double-digits on the afternoon with freshman forward Nadara Odell (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) leading the way with 30 points. Freshman forward Hannah Hick (Cleveland, OH/Cleveland Heights) had a stellar collegiate debut, recording a double-double with 20 points and 18 rebounds (5 offense, 13 defense). Freshman guard Jessica Beehler (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) also record a double-double the last time out against the Falcons, scoring 18 points while dishing out 11 assists.

 

On the year, JCC is averaging 93.5 points per game while making 37.0 percent of their shots from the floor. The Jayhawks are active on the boards, averaging 56 rebounds per game. JCC is also willing to make the extra pass to find a score, averaging 21 assists per contest.

 

Odell is leading all Jayhawks in scoring, averaging 28.5 points per game. Beehler is second on the team in scoring with 16 points per contest with Hicks and Kymi Nance (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) adding 13 points per contest each. Beehler also leads the team in assists per game with 11.5.

 

On the glass, Hicks leads the way with 18.5 rebounds per game with Amari Carter (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) adding 7.5 rebounds per game.

 

In their last meeting, the Flacons were led by Nya Morris with 40 points with Naeja Cromartie adding 23 points. Kiana Williams recorded the double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds (8 offense, 5 defense).

 

On the season, Lackawanna is averaging 86.8 points per game while shooting 40 percent from the floor. On the glass, the Falcons are averaging 47.6 rebounds per game while averaging 15.6 assists per contest.

 

Lackawanna has four players averaging double-digit points per game with Jamiya Eaddy scoring 21.6 points per contest. Morris is second on the team, averaging 17.4 points per game.

 

On the boards, Eaddy and Williams are averaging 8.6 rebounds per game.
