OLEAN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) eSports team had a tough night on the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sticks Tuesday night, losing both of their games.
Starting things off for the Jayhawks, Bretten Schreve was handed his first loss of the season to SUNY Jefferson Community College, who also entered the match undefeated (4-0). In the battle of the titans, Brett dropped the best of seven by a score of 4-2, with all six rounds ending three knockouts to two. After the loss, Brett said it was "It was like the best set of my life. I enjoyed that a lot. I'll have to pull through next time is all." His opponent said Brett was "the best Yoshi I've ever played against."
Mike Horvath was also handed his first loss of the season at the hands of Lorain County Community College (LCCC), dropping the best of seven by a score of 4-0. LCCC won all rounds by a score of three knockouts to two, with the exception of round two, which they won 3-1.
With the losses, Schreve drops to 5-1 on the season, while Horvath stands at 2-1.
Both boys will look to rebound next Tuesday, November 12th, starting at 6:30 PM.
