Jayhawks Open Rocket League Season with a Loss

OLEAN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) Rocket League played their first game of the season, losing the best of five to Jefferson State Community College by a score of 3-1. 

Game one was a close match, with the Jayhawks falling by a score of 3-2. James DiBlasi and Adam Powell scored for Jamestown. Despite a hat trick from Adam and another goal from James, Jefferson State would take Game two by a convincing 7-4 score.

Not to go down without a fight, JCC rallied to take Game three by a score of 3-1. Powell (2) and DiBlasi (1) tallied for the Jayhawks, while Logan McIntosh notched an assist in the win.

Game 4, the match-deciding round, ended in heartbreak as Jefferson State would score the tying goal with just one second left and go on to win just 26 seconds into overtime and seal the deal with a 5-4 decision.

James would finish the series with four goals on 11 shots, one save, and one assist. Adam ended with eight goals on 15 shots, seven saves, and four assists. Logan had one goal on five shots, four saves, and three assists.

The Jayhawks next match is next Friday, November 8th.
