JCC Improves to 4-0 as eSports Soar to Victory

OLEAN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) duo of Bretten Shreve and Michael Horvath won their Super Smash Brothers Ultimate matches; both Jayhawks came out on top of the respective best of sevens by scores of four games to one.

First up for the Jayhawks, Bretten Shreve faced off against Rose State College and took a commanding 3-0 series lead after three consecutive three knockouts to one decisions before Rose State College rebounded with a 3-1 match of their own. Bretten closed it out in game five with another three knockouts to one victory.

In his first match of the season, Michael Horvath had a bout against Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC). He also jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead following a 3-1 decision in Game one and 3-2 wins in Games two and three. CVCC forced a Game five by defeating Horvath three knockouts to two in Game four, but that is as far as it would go after a three knockout to one win for the rookie in Game five.

With both Jayhawk wins, Bretten improves to 2-0 on the season, and Michael starts off the year with a 1-0 record.

Both players are looking to keep the streak going next Tuesday night versus an opponent yet to be determined.
