JAMESTOWN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) hockey team remains perfect in their home barn of Northwest Arena with a 7-4 win over SUNY Geneseo Saturday night in front of a raucous crowd.
JCC came out with the throttle stuck to the floor, with Cooper Bergman scoring the first goal at 15:58; he was assisted by Malik Powell and Noah Kellogg.
Jamestown's lead doubled ten minutes later when Kellogg went on a personal 3-0 run to pot his first career hat trick and give the Jayhawks a 4-0 lead. He scored the other two goals in the 2nd period, both on the power play.
Geneseo brought the score to 4-1 early in the 3rd, but Meyer Talbett and Bergan Nelson each lit the lamp to push the JCC edge to 6-1 before Jamestown got a little lackadaisical late to see a final of 7-4 after Daniel Young put home an empty netter.
The victory moves JCC to 3-1 on the season and 3-0 at home.
Jamestown hits the road on Friday, October 10th, at 8:30 PM to battle Canisius University, a team they beat 7-6 at home earlier in the year.
