JAMESTOWN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) hockey team was passing out more than candy Saturday night as they topped Penn State Behrend 5-3 to move to 4-0 in conference play.

The Jayhawks jumped out to an early lead when Brandon Smith pushed the puck beyond the goalie in scrum with just over 16 minutes left in the first period. That started an exchange of goals, as the Nittany Lions even things up later in the perion.

Jamestown jumped back out front at the 4:34 mark of the frame, and captain Nate Stephens finished a pass from Jer Hirliman to push it to 2-1 JCC.

The game was even 2-2 in the second before Stefano Isabella finished a three-on-two break with assists from Stephens and Hirliman.

The lead, once again, didn't last long, with Penn State tying things at 3-3 before the period ended.

In the third period it was all Jamestown, as the Jayhawks scored a pair and never looked back. First up was Hirliman from Stephens; the connection made it 4-3 home team.

Then, on the power play, the duo combined again for a 5-3 edge.

The win improves JCC to 6-3 on the year. Jamestown stays home for their next two games.

First up is Niagara University coming to town on Friday, November 1st, at 7:00 PM.
