DRYDEN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) baseball team finished off their four-game series with Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) by taking three of four games from the Panthers over a 50-hour span. After sweeping the two home games on Tuesday, JCC split the pair at TC3 on Thursday.
JCC dropped game one 7-2. The Jayhawks fell behind early, 1-0, before evening things up in the top of the 2nd on a Jax Arcuri RBI. Tompkins Cortland scored the next six runs to push their lead to 7-1 going into the 7th. Jamestown was able to squeeze a run across in the top half of the final inning but couldn't get any closer for your 7-2 final.
The score was reversed in game two, with the Dirty Birds getting the 7-2 victory. Scoring was limited early on, as Santino Musone allowed zero runs over six innings, with eight strikeouts. JCC entered the 6th down 2-1 but then broke through, scoring six runs in the top half of the frame. Josue Rosario and Yadiel Garcia were the heroes at the dish, each knocking in a pair of RBI.
The three wins in three days moved Jamestown's record to 11-19.
Jamestown will be back on the diamond on Sunday as they host Genesee Community College.
