Jayhawk Baseball Sweeps Sunday Doubleheader

CORNING, NY - Jamestown Community College (JCC) baseball completed its first sweep of the season, taking both ends of a doubleheader from Corning Community College on Sunday.

JCC took game one 6-1 behind a strong showing from pitcher Dylan Kinney. The sophomore tossed seven innings, allowing zero earned runs while striking out eight batters. He was helped at the plate by five Jayhawks knocking in at least one RBI. Freshman Gabe Roth led the way; wait a pair, Yadiel Garcia, Cadyn Wilson, Santino Musone, and Josue Rosario all had an RBI. 

Jamestown turned around and took game two, 8-4. Kolden McCall earned the win with his 6.2 innings pitched. The freshman allowed three earned runs while striking out ten. Six different Jayhawks knocked in a run in the victory. Roth and Garcia each plated a pair; Kenneth Madrid, Jax Arcuri, Rosario, and Luke Larson each had one.

The pair of wins moves JCC to 6-8 on the season. It will be a familiar drive for their next pair of games as Jamestown is right back at Corning for another doubleheader on Tuesday, March 25th.
