CUMBERLAND, NY - After splitting their opening doubleheader with Rowan College of South Jersey—Cumberland, Jamestown Community College (JCC) was plagued by errors in the second two games, leading to a pair of losses. The Jayhawks allowed 27 runs in the twin bill, but 13 of those were unearned due to five errors, with JCC losing the games 19-4 and 8-1.
Jamestown did have some solid performances at the plate; sophomore Mitchell McKinney went two-for-two with a run in game one. Dylan Treadway led the team with a pair of RBI. Kyle Camp entered the game in relief, allowing no runs with two strikeouts in his one inning.
Game two wasn't as favorable, with JCC plating zero RBI and just a couple of hits. Kolden McCall started on the mound, allowing an earned run with eight strikeouts over four innings.
The pair of losses knocks Jamestown down to 1-3 on the year.
They have a few days to recoup; the next four-game series starts on Sunday, March 9th, at Hocking College.
