Mistakes Doom Jayhawks Versus Niagara

JAMESTOWN, NY - The boxscore may not show it, but Jamestown Community College was a viable opponent for #7 SUNY Niagara in their pair of games on Saturday afternoon. The Jayhawks lost game one 15-1, but it was four errors and five walks doing the bulk of the damage, assisting the T'Wolves to large 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings. JCC's lone RBI came off the bat of Tim Beimel, who lifted a sac fly to left in the 4th to plate Hayden Hoag. Kodi Colton took the loss, but five of his ten runs allowed were unearned.

Jamestown cleaned up their fielding issues in game two, but the bats stayed dormant in the 3-0 defeat. All three of Niagara's runs came on a three-run home run. Besides that one pitch, Eddie Bartoli was solid on the mound for the Jayhawks. The sophomore pitched a complete game with just those three runs allowed.

It's a quick turnaround for Jamestown. They're back home Sunday when they host Suny Broome for another twin bill starting at noon.
